Sarah, who is a native of Bend, grew up in a family who always loved animals. She was active in 4-H for many years working on projects with her sheep. While she was in high school in Bend, she had a part-time job working at a dog kennel. As a student at Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR, she worked at a veterinary clinic for over six years where she loved everything including the kennel work, assisting the doctors and doing reception work. She had fallen in love with writing in college, but despite majoring in Journalism, she always knew that she wanted to make her career center around animals. After graduation in 2010, she decided to go ahead and become a certified veterinary technician in 2011.
Sarah joined Cinder Rock’s staff in October, 2012. She especially enjoys dental work because of the impact good dental health care has on dogs’ and cats’ lives. Getting to know each and every one of our patients and their families is something else she is enjoying.
Sarah lives in Bend with her husband Adam. Their animal family consists of two dogs: Zeeko, a Doberman mix that she adopted from The Dalles Humane Society, and Jax, a cattle dog mix that she adopted from the city of Shasta Lake Animal Shelter. They also have two domestic short-haired cats who are sisters: Ello and Nala.
Sarah also works part-time at a dog kennel in Bend, but when she has free time, she and her husband enjoy hiking together with their dogs. She also enjoys reading and relaxing.
