Miriam is originally from the east coast. She graduated from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio where she studied the Russian Language. Working at a veterinary office was definitely never in Miriam’s plan. Animals however were always an important part of her life. When a position became available at the front office of a veterinary hospital in Iowa where she was living with her family, she decided to give it a try. That try lasted 20 years. She and her husband, Ted moved to Central Oregon in 1999, and Miriam joined the Cinder Rock staff in July of that year and retired in 2007.
Retirement, of course, meant that life became even busier. Miriam continues to edit the quarterly newsletter for Cinder Rock and she also keeps our website updated. She still likes to spend her free time hiking, birding, gardening, reading and is a life-long and seriously out of control baker.
