Dena grew up in Hermiston, OR, and graduated from Southern Oregon University in Ashland in 1993. When Dena moved to Redmond, she began bringing her cat, Cleo, to Cinder Rock. At that time, she was working as an office manager for a furniture store and spending her one day off per week working in her aunt’s first grade class where little Ian Sides was a student. When a job opening became available at Cinder Rock, Dena decided to submit her resume. Dr. Holly remembers that it was Dena’s work ethic that made a lasting impression and won her a position as receptionist in March of 1996.
It did not take long for Dena to grow from receptionist to office manager, and in that capacity Dena has taken on the responsibility of managing, training and inspiring a group of six Doctors and an expanding support staff. Dena and her husband Jerry had lived in Redmond for many years, but in 2006 they moved to Chiloquin where Dena worked both from home and commuted to our office. In the fall of 2008 Dena and Jerry happily moved back to Redmond. Dena’s leadership capabilities and talents continue to help all of us attain the absolute highest level of service for both our clients and their beloved animal companions.
Dena and Jerry share their home with their two dogs: Lily, who is a Corgi and a little clown, and Roz, who is a Vizsla and a sweet and loving doll. In addition, there is a cat named Silvia who Dena adopted from our clinic. She is a black and white cat and has fit easily into the Coyner household due to her undeniable charm and cuteness.
In her free time, Dena enjoys camping, scrapbooking, reading and spending time with her family.

As long as she can remember, Brandi has always wanted to work in a veterinary clinic.
She is a Bend native and went to Mountain View High School. She worked at a law firm, and then at Northwest Community Credit Union before coming to Cinder Rock in September of 2004.
Her love of animals, her outgoing personality, and the genuine pleasure Brandi takes in helping our clients with their animals make her a real asset to our front office. Brandi is the manager of the front office staff.
Brandi, her husband Jack, and their son Garrett and daughter Maddison live in Bend and share their home with two cats: Miracle and Rudy, and their dog Louie, a Rottweiler/Lab mix. Brandi also has two cows named Jezzabelle and Squeakers. Their parrot named Poncho complete their animal family.
Brandi’s favorite things to do in her free time are camping, fishing and riding four-wheelers.
Sarah, who joined our staff at our front desk in October, 2015, grew up in Wasco, OR. She graduated from Sherman High School in Moro, OR in 2004 and then attended Columbia Gorge Community College.
Sarah worked as an agricultural mechanic in Sherman and Klickitat Counties for a number of years and then moved to Central OR where she lived in Bend before moving to Redmond in 2015. Sarah shares her home with her husband Scott and their three children: two sons, Seth and Jules and daughter, Autumn. Because Sarah grew up in the country, she and her family had always enjoyed the company of lots of dogs and cats, and for as long as she can remember she has always wanted to work at a veterinary clinic. She loves all animals, but big dogs are her special love – the bigger the better – and her family has two: Hank is a Black Lab mix and Koa is a Husky/Golden Retriever mix.
When Sarah has free time some of the things she enjoys are camping, hiking, riding motorcycles, welding and drinking lots of coffee.

Chelsea, who is originally from Culver, graduated from Culver High School in 2003. She attended Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA.
She has lots of memories of coming to Cinder Rock with her mom’s Chihuahua and her own two rescue Boxers that she was fostering during that time. She had been active in 4-H equine activities when she was in school and she just knew that centering her career around a medical environment was the perfect fit for her – especially a medical environment that involved helping animals. In August 2017 Chelsea joined our front office staff and is “soaking it all in” learning all she can.
Chelsea lives in Culver with her husband Justin and their daughter Irish. They share their home with River, who is a female chocolate Labrador Retriever and Lux, who is a female silver-colored Labrador Retriever. They also have 11 chickens, all have names of course, and both River and Lux help take care of the chickens.
Chelsea has a variety of interests that occupy her free time, when she can find some. She likes to paint, and she likes to make jewelry. She enjoys crocheting and sculpture. She enjoys training her dogs and adventuring outdoors. She has recently started learning about metal smithing. And she has been a professional photographer the last 15 years, but says she is taking a break for now!
In June, 2018 Kati came to work at Cinder Rock and joined our staff at the front desk. She is originally from Forest Grove, OR and graduated from Forest Grove High School in 2010. Kati had grown up around animals, but it was her great-grandmother’s passion for showing and breeding bulldogs, that taught her the most about the benefits, joys and responsibilities of dog ownership. Kati still smiles when she remembers all the many photos of the bulldogs in her great-grandma’s house, and her one small photo of her (human) family.
Working in the front office, Kati has been enjoying seeing all the animals who come to our office, getting to know our clients, and learning her way around this busy practice.
Kati lives in Redmond with her husband Nick and their three children: Kaden, Bryson and McKenzie. They also share their home with a Flat-Coated Retriever named Nala, who is, in Kati’s opinion, the best and sweetest dog ever!
And when she isn’t working and has some free time, Kati enjoys camping with friends and family, doing anything outdoors and also spending time with her friends.
Ryly is a native of Central Oregon and grew up in Bend. She graduated from high school in 2015 as a student in the Early College Program through Baker Charter Schools and COCC. She then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Sciences at OSU in Corvallis in the spring of 2018.
Ryly, who had grown up around animals and had her own horse when she was quite young, remembers a series of wonderful veterinarians who made a big impression on her as she watched them helping the animals. Observing the kindness and the skill of those doctors influenced her decision to work in a veterinary practice. And what she enjoys about working at Cinder Rock is not only seeing all the dogs, cats and horses, but also talking to our clients about their animals, and being part of the environment where she is learning to help animals too.
Ryly lives in Redmond now and shares her home with her Border Collie “child” named Maejor. She also has a horse back in her life. Jewel is a quarter horse that was rescued by her sister and then rehabilitated back to health. Ryly says that Jewel has made her fall in love with horses all over again.
When she has free time, her favorite things to do are riding and taking care of Jewel, going to the lake, and hanging out with Maejor.
